Who we are

Bluerocracy was started in 2011 by Mike Cooper with a bunch of likeminded musicians who decided to start a band playing music that we all enjoyed. With Rod Byl on Drums and David(Dawie) Boon on Vocals.

This became a strictly Blues and Blues-Rock band doing covers of well known bluesmen but doing their lesser known numbers.

After a couple of years with the music scene changing as it always does, our music expanded to include some Soft Rock with the odd more contemporary song thrown in.

The band then went through a couple of changes with the Bass guitarist immigrating to the UK and Dean joining us as well as few keyboard player changes.

The COVID pandemic then threw a spanner in the works and Bluerocracy went into hibernation for nearly 2 years and have now “risen from the ashes” so to say, regrouped and put in some serious preparation for getting back into the music scene.

The band line up now is with Mike and Rod being the founding members and Dean joining 9 years ago, we added two ladies, Jacky and Kylie who have added a feminine dynamic and energy to the band. With Jax venturing solo we have brought in David on lead vocals.

2024 Beverly Jane Joined the band on vocals coming in with her powerhouse voice.

Mid-2024 the band went into hiatus to eventually not carrying on, losing the lead guitarist Mike as he went to follow his dream, Kylie deciding to focus on her career.

2025 Dean Took over the band from Mike Cooper. The band started up again with new ideas and ventures. While still holding the values Bluerocracy was all about

Even though we are doing covers, our sound has developed into a unique Bluerocracy sound.
